Last week for camp Gooney. Sleeping under the stars for several months will certainly be missed. Living out of a tent is certainly casual. The difficulties are the amenities. I would not say that we were roughing it at all, to sleep under the stars for a summer in Crested Butte is a privilege. Starting next week we will be care taking a nice house, and then we have to figure out a roof for winter.
Last post I described my lust for a fancy bike. My Hardtail feels weird, and I can't seem to get a functional fork. I put some bling cranks on, and a heavy steel fork. It's a complete state of mind change from the 5 inch carbon fiber wonder bike.
With Steiny in town we decided on the favorite evening ride, 409.5. Steiny and Tim road their big bikes. There is no way I would be able to keep up on the descent with some of the best riders in the valley with my full ridgid, so I dedicated myself as beer-camera bitch.
While I might not be able to rip the descent, I can step back and just enjoy taking photos. Going slower is not always bad, you see more.
I love 409.5 in the evening because of the golden light. My Mom always called it the "Golden Hour."
Here are some images.
Cheers,
Chris
Gorgeous shots! Thanks for thinking of your mom.
love, me

It would be cool if you two would consider doing a blog post detailing all of the logistics of your summer living arrangements. I'm curious and interested in learning more from tent to food to storing "stuff," and finding and relocating after your 14 days were up throughout the season.

Couldn't agree more.

It used to be that first class offered cushier seats, a little more room, better food and free booze
