Zach organized a death march. I was feeling good after the GT so I signed up along with Tim. The past few nights have been cold locking up the snowpack, diminishing the threats of wet slides. I think it's the first time that our avalanche forecast went to LOW this year.
We met at 4 am and launched for the tour.
Photo Essay:
Zach drops "El Nacho"
Approaching White Rock. El Nacho is the couloir far right in the photo.
Zach sends the headwall
Tim tops out
Summit
Our tracks on "El Nacho"
Ascent in green, descent in red. Obviously there is a large amount of aproach/eggress that cannot be seen.
Zach took this photo of me after 13 hrs(including 1 hour sippin on a cold Ranger IPA by Copper Creek). Maybe I am not fully recovered from the GT! I was pooped.
What is Goldilocks? Well, a friend pointed out two peaks that resembled two breasts in the sunset,"Golden Tops." By the end of the tour we were not sure if "Golden Top's" was "Golden Tops" so we started saying "Goldilocks." We were hoping to link one more line but missed our mark because of the elusive "Goldilocks. "Whatever the name is it sure was a beautiful 3000 foot corn run!
Cheers,
Chris
