Happy Chutes. It has not snowed here in a week, but these chutes preserved some pretty soft snow. Pillow hopping and cliff dropping fun. Andy is building a house on the Slate near the bottom of the chutes and has been taking note of conditions while swinging his hammer. I recieved a text message this morning from Andy spelling, "Happy Chutes!" Off we went setting a skin track up the shoulder of Mt. Emmons.
Nice thing about being the guy with the cameras is that I can scout the drop, say,"DUDE, it's pretty big. Hit the prowl and aim for the gut. I'll take pictures." I mean I would hit it myself, but I need to take pictures:) Matt 'Steiny' hitting the drop.
Andy and I got some really fun HD/POV footage that we are going to collaborate with. Will be static HD shots and the perspectives of a snowboarder(Steiny), tele skier(Andy), and Alpine(me). Should be up later in the week. For now here is a short edit of my perspective.
As I write this it is starting to snow. Back to winter!
Cheers,
Chris
Solid 25 footer. Well done. I feel like I'm the only one going for drops in my crew, good to see someone else getting after it.

Never mind one week without snow... things are looking bare in the Alps. Thankfully I don't have any skis with me! You can actually go pretty high on the S-aspects now with the mountain bike... seems a long way from the snow deluge of CO winters. No complaints tho, I like riding the dualy in January. Look forward to the cliff-jumping video ha!
