Rode some sweet Church trails with Heather this morning. Dusty, dry, good if you're into that tire drifting stuff. Was able to clear the whole descent that usually throws me into fits, including the last switchback, which I've never pulled off before. I think I even did it gracefully. Riding back atop of 4Mile when we ran into the owner of the house at the end of the trail. They're closing it down to mountain bikes. He said that there were too many people riding the trail which is all on private property, too many people riding down the stairs and erroding them, so they're closing the trail from Salina to where it spits out on the stairs. Bummer. All the stuff heading up to Sunshine will still be legal, until they finish building the houses up there, then I'm sure they'll shut those down too. Ned is littered with No Tresspassing signs, Tennessee mountain is being patrolled...seems like a lot is being cut off pretty quickly.
On a funny note, got an email from Roland exclaiming that it was us that he saw on 4th of July road. We even stopped and chatted about the snow on North Star which they had climbed that day. I have the worst facial recognition, because I didn't recognize him at all, but he didn't really recognize me either. Whoops. Check out his photos page, he's got some sweet stuff up.
