Finally, we are getting moisture in the valley. It seems like it has rained everyday in the afternoon and the trails are getting good. On the 4th I had the day off(until 6pm) and decided go out for a long ride rather than join the town festivities. Sometimes it pays to be an introvert.
At 530 am I set off with a cliff bar for breakfast and some cold via. I prefer hot coffee but we are having some issues with our camp stove. Before I knew it I topping out trail 403 at sunrise.
Ripping descent, and then off to the classic 401. I did not see a soul.
I was planning on riding for quite a ways, so I filled up at a spring that I felt good about. I made some more coffee.
Aftter riding the lower 401, it was on to Deer Creek backwards. I think it is the way to go, it is all ridable this direction
After an amazing descent to Brush Creek, I started plodding up into the clouds. A 1 mile hike-a-bike up block and tackle and it was back to buff trails.
A ripping descent into Cement Creek that I have never done before. I then motivated to ride back to CB south on waterfall creek cutoff. I was raining pretty good at this point so the trail was incredibly tacky.
I had a rather nasty flat descending back into CB South when a rock flcked and snapped off my valve stem and then my pump broke. I got soaked to the bone after this but excited to get a long ride on, even though I missed the parade.
Cheers,
Chris
you ARE the parade, chris.

I am so glad you are getting some moisture and hopefully, the rest of Colorado will get some too. We are frying here in the East.
