Trying to get back on it, but seem to be crashing. My one good pair of chamois and I laid the bike down on a concrete corner. Yes, laid my bike over on the curvy bike path on the way to CBMR. Yes, I am a putz. You could imagine what the road rash looks like.
The problem with the knees is nothing new. I put gears on my bike to make it easier on my knees but complications with parts led to the bike not getting together until a few days before the CTR. Guess I really should not be surprised my body did not like the new set up. Spent the last night on the bridge on Junction Creek waiting for Eszter to finish. Maybe its time to get a proper bike fit. If there is one tid bit of advice for someone who wants to finish the the CTR... Prepare!(well, excluding Eszter).
Lots of moisture back in CB. Feels like the seasons are changing quickly.
Went downhilling after work yesterday. Feels Good. I was careful after feeling a bit sore from crashing my bike twice, but had a good time pushing the two-wheel drift. Love my Waltworks 5inch bike. I rode 6 miles to work with full face and shin pads on back, rode up to the mountain post work for the weds. night $10 lift ticket, drank a Coors on the lift, got 6 runs in, and pedaled 8 miles home. I love the versatility of that bike.
Aghh. Hoody weather. My favorite time of year.
So have suffered a bit after the CTR, mainly just bummed I could not pedal to Durango. Thoughts have arisen to tour it this fall under my own terms. I remember the feeling when Eszter and I made it Durango 5 years ago, felt soo good. I really wanted that feeling again.
Short video of one of the DH runs. First time riding this trail and was a bit scared of the big booters. Should really hit the dirt jumps to get more confident boosting air. Excellent trail though, I think with some practice I will be nailing the bigger jumps. Rode 'Woods' trail for the first time as well. F-ing rad. Steep, drops, bridges, berms. I did not record this one because the batteries died but may race it tonight. Nice way to rest the knees.... go Downhilling.
Congrats to all who participated in the CTR. If you consider yourself a mountain biker in Colorado and can spare a week, I would highly recommend touring the Colorado Trail. So much singletrack and what a way to see our beautiful state. Think Eszter is starting to come back to life and Matt is a bit sick still.
Cheers,
Chris
And... Check out my new website that I am Building to show my artwork. Working with 'Coffee' some with hopes of making some extra $$. enjoy... MillerPerspectives.Squarespace.com
Matt when he rolled into Durango. We were at Steamworks Brewery in Durango and Matt got greeted by beer and pizza. I still can't believe how fast Matt motored the last section. He made up almost a day back on Eszter. Nice Work Steiny!

Nice vid, I thought you were going to case it and eat dirt @ 1:15, looking forward to seeing the art page.
